What happens to a child who has to appear for a board exam ?

Ananya Learning Centre prepares children for two Boards:

  • The State Board ( Samcheer Kalvi) for the Secondary(10th std)
  • The National Institute of Open schooling (NIOS) Secondary and Senior Secondary (10th and 12th)

As Ananya is a Learning Centre and not a school, it takes the children through the State Board as private candidates.

To appear as a Private candidate in the State Board a student should have a transfer certificate with an 8th standard pass from a recognized school or write the Elementary School leaving Certificate (ESLC) exam which is an equivalent of the 8th std. Since many of these children are unable to manage in the school though they are quite capable of passing the exams, Ananya helps them prepare for their ESLC Board exams too.

When children are taken care of, can the parents be left behind? Ananya along with MDA's patronage provides support, guidance and a platform for parents to share their anxieties by being part of the Parents Support Group which meets from time to time.
